Making Your Own Baby Food- Getting Started

My first experience with making baby food purées was pretty seamless! Of course, being prepared, clearing an afternoon for it & recruiting some help from my mom played a huge part in the success!

We started purées at 6 months with my son, some may start sooner or later depending on the recommendation of your pediatrician.

What you’ll need to get started (before even heading to the produce aisle):
-blender or food processor
-popsicle molds
-baby food freezer trays (if you’re going to make a bunch ahead of time all at once like I did, you need at least 5 trays)
-plastic or glass food storage containers
-steamer insert or basket
-everyday kitchen items-pot, baking sheet, mixing bowl, knife, peeler, slicer, spatula
-freezer bags

Now that you are set up for success with making baby food—stay tuned for more tips and recipe ideas! What questions do you have before we get started?

My favorite item: WeeSprout freezer storage tray with lid. I use this almost every time I make baby food! I have linked this product along with some of my other baby food making essentials.
