February is just around the corner so I thought I would share a new sensory bin for the month! I wanted to make sure this one was “baby friendly” for my 8.5 month old son.

I made “2 ingredient cloud dough” which is simply 1 part corn starch & 1 part flour. I added some Valentine themed sprinkles, silicone heart-shaped baking cups & a Valentine spatula and whisk I found in Target’s dollar spot! You could also add measuring spoons or a scooper. If you can’t get to Target, there are similar ones available on Amazon.
Sensory play helps to:
- Encourage tactile exploration
- Learn measurement skills
- Strengthen fine motor skills (pouring, holding, stirring, etc.)
- Work on hand-eye coordination
- Use imaginative play skills

Expand your child’s language skills by:
- Using new vocabulary: mix, stir, measure, bake, heart, etc.
- Asking wh- questions if your child is verbal (ex. “What are you baking?”, “Who are you baking it for?” etc.)
- Count with them as they scoop into the heart.
Have fun! If you make a Valentine sensory bin with your little love, please tag Eat Play Read in your Facebook or Instagram post/story!
